St Michael's pipe organ
St Michael's has a Harrison & Harrison pipe organ which is used regulary for Sunday services and weddings. Details of the organ can be found on the National Pipe Organ Register. Ken, our organist, plays a short piece of organ music at the end of the 10:00 Sunday Communion service. It is a delight to listen to Ken's playing and to hear how fine our organ sounds. If you would like a favourite piece of music played, plese contact Ken
St Michael's bell ringers

Our peal of bells is, historically, interesting. Ringing times: 9:30am each Sunday and 5:30pm first Sunday. Practice 7:15-8:45pm Monday.
The parish boasts a fine team of bell ringers who have their own web site. On their site you can read about the history of St Michael's bells and their most recent restoration. There are also articles on bell ringing and links to the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers.

St Michael's Church Choir
The Choir sing the 10:00am Sunday Communion Services and at the 10:00am Family Service on the first Sunday of each month. We are usually asked to sing at weddings.

Our hymns are taken, for the most part, from Songs of Fellowship, and Ancient and Modern Revised (AMR). We have a good mixture of traditional hymns and new songs, and we pride ourselves in expanding our repertoire. We also sing a setting of many parts of the Eucharistic Liturgy. At present we sing mainly in unison and sometimes in two parts.

Our singers are mainly ladies and we have a growing number of young people. The choir practive is 7:00-8:00pm on Thursday evenings. Ages are from 10 years upwards.

The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM).
