We shall have the Lord Mayor of Leeds (coucillor Judith Elliot) with us for our All Age Worship at 10:00am on Sunday 7th March. Councillor Elliot joined us for the Flower Festival in July 2009 and enjoyed her time so much that she asked if shed could come back before she stands down in May 2010.

Lent began on Ash Wednesday 17th February and during Lent there are Lent courses running at the Tuesday night Bible study and the Thursday praise group.

The Prayer and Praise group will be visiting Lenacre on Thursday 25th March for an Easter service and food. Please Please contact John or Wendy B.

Re-roofing of St Michael's Church is now complete, but there is still a chance to sponsor a slate on the diagram which is at the back of church.St Michael's showing south aisle With regards to the re-ordering - the plans took a hugh step forward recently with the Archdeacon paying us a visit and being extremely pleased with the proposals. The Victorian Society have raised no objections to our proposals.

Please note that the AGM is booked for Monday 12th April. This year Chris will definitely be standing down as church warden. Legally we need two church wardens. If you are able to help in any way, please speak to Val or Chris for info.

Our Lent Charity is for a project called 'A Lab for Lent'. The Diocese is trying to raise enough money to provide a laboratory for Issenye Secondary School in Mara. You are also invited to join us for the Lent 'Count your blessings journey.

It is great to report that Bishop Stephen wil be taking a Confirmation Service at St Michael's on April 18th 2010. If you are interested in being confirmed please contact the Vicar. Thanks. Please remember in your prayers the young people and the adults who are to be confimed or received into the Church of England.

Church Path - this workpath viewed from gate is finished and a very good Job has been done. To help us pay the bill, there is an opportunity to sponsor a foot of the path for £2. The total length is 210 feet, so if we manage to sponsor the path it will raise £420 towards the bill. Please see Malcolm or Mavis to add your name onto the plan.

Revd. Marlene Wilkinson - It is wonderful to report that Marlene has now received 'Permission to Officiate' at St. Michael's and St. Gabriel's. This means that Marlene will be helping out at various services across the parish.

St Michaels's Bookshop Craig and Hayley Bardy run the bookshop in partnership with Wesley Owen. The bookshop is at the back of church, but orders can be placed with Craig or Hayley for anything specific you may wish to purchase.

We are putting together a lending library at the back of church. This will include books, DVDs, tapes, music tapes etc. for people to loan.
