Seekers weekend Away
Seekers weekend away temple

In late September the Seekers youth club from St. Michaelís Church in East Ardsley spent a wonderful weekend of fun and fellowship at Sneaton Castle near Whitby . 31 young people aged 11 to 18 spent the weekend doing various activities including games on the beach, climbing wall, treasure hunt around Whitby and pottery painting. The weekend also included time with the nuns from Sneaton Castle who shared something of their lives. The young people raised £1,600 towards the weekend by doing ĎDragonís Dení fundraising events like cake baking, car washing, selling key rings and running coffee mornings etc. It was an updated version of Jesus and the parable of the Talents where the young people were given an amount of money, ranging from £5 to £15 to go an invest in a project to make additional money for the trip. All the money raised by individuals and small groups was then put into a pot to reduce the overall weekend cost for each young person. This photo is taken in the walled garden of Sneaton Castle
