The
Group operates under the umbrella of St Michael’s Church who generously help us
to provide a friendly, safe and welcoming place for parents/carers and children
to meet others, make friends, chat and share the joys and sorrows of
parenting.
We do
all we can to make sure that everyone has fun and a happy time with us. There is a team of leaders and the Group is
visited by the Vicar and Curate as their schedules allow.

The
Church has a child protection policy.
The
ages of children who can attend the Group are from birth to nursery school
age. The sessions run from
Smarties
is a voluntary organisation which relies totally on donations, fundraising and
members’ weekly subscriptions.

Responsibility
for the children remains with the parents/carers at all times.
Each
week there are numerous activities in which the children can be involved:
A
carpeted area is kept apart for babies.
We
gather together towards the end of each session to sing songs and rhymes which
the children enjoy. We encourage
everyone to join in and sing and the children to play musical instruments also.
At this
time we give out any notices and celebrate birthdays with the birthday song.
We use
this time to make occasional visits to Church.
The visits are linked with special activities and usually occur at
Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
