The present St. Michael's is a little over 100 years old

but the main door is from the earlier Norman church

and there is some Jacobean panelling in the Vicar's

Vestry.

On Tuesday 20 March 2001, Bishop David visited the Parish.

During the day he visited the homes of a number of people

living in the Parish. Later members of the PCC and other

parishioners joined him in a prayer time in the church.

After a buffet tea he led an extra ordinary meeting of the PCC

and discussed the research carried out in the parish during the

preceding two months. This research had made the PCC more

aware of the make up of the parish. Bishop David drew out

many challenges for the church in the parish.
